Following the previous dismal season, the Association decided to continue nominally but to abandon all competitions for the 190B10 season. Only three clubs affiliated with the Association and these were allowed to arrange their own matches. Their cricket was played on an “irregular and go-as-you-please” basis.
Another district club “went under” when Western Division disbanded at the start of the season. It was replaced by a private club – the Maitland I. Zingari C.C.
The decline of Maitland cricket was plainly evident when the Hunter River DCA representative team was thrashed by Newcastle in one of the inter-district matches by 475 to 166, with A A Burke of Newcastle scoring 201.
